Ernestine Nadar's sickroom in the house in Sénart was lavishly decorated, as were all of the Nadars' successive homes. One can note her portrait with those of Félix and Paul on either side. Several of those images can be seen in this exhibit.
This arrangement of the portraits of the three of them is emblematic of Ernestine's role in the Nadar family. Throughout her existence, she helped her husband and son, and eased their often complex relationship.
