The important series of photographs done by Paul Nadar with his Kodak and his Express Détective principally includes scenes caught live during the long voyage on the trans-Caspian train line, portraits, and events he witnessed during the journey. The point was above all to demonstrate the camera's speed, and the "possibility of doing artistic work even with instant photography."
