The Cosmographie Universelle completed by Guillaume Le Testu in 1556 provides a fractured but detailed overview of the world, from Northern Europe to the Mediterranean, from Africa to the East Indies, and from the undiscovered Terra Australis to America. It provides the most complete and richly illustrated overview of the world as it was then known, drafted in portulan chart style.
