This picture, which may have been taken in Sénart, where they lived for more than 10 years, illustrates the Nadar spouses' life well: although they had retired from Parisian life, they were still surrounded by friends and household staff. That noisy, generous lifestyle always suited them, and they maintained it well into their old age.
