A central-heating system with a huge room-heater decorated with antique glazed tiles, bronzes and enamels circulated warm air in winter. The collections of tiles and other curiosities decorated the studio walls, lending the studio a refined, artistic atmosphère. Most of those items would be sold off by Félix Nadar in times of financial difficulty.
