The Miller Atlas created by Lopo Homen in around 1519 depicts Portugal's latest conquests in Asia and Spain's latest discoveries in South America. The Indian Ocean was drawn based on information brought back by Vasco de Gama's expeditions to India (1498) and Afonso de Albuquerque's military campaigns. The map of Brazil includes information from explorations undertaken by Pedro Álvares Cabral in 1500.
On the map of the Atlantic, the archipelagos of the Caribbean Sea are already well situated.
